At Flexciton, we are leading the 4th industrial revolution by bringing A.I. to manufacturing. We build on pioneering research to completely revolutionise the way the manufacturing industry operates. Whilst only a young startup, we work with some of the largest and most advanced manufacturers in the world!
We are here to transform the way the largest companies in the world make their products, by building a platform that is solving an extremely difficult problem - one that would be impossible for a human to solve.
Our vision is to bring Flexciton A.I technology to every factory in the world to enable manufacturing to operate at a level never before possible.
About the role
Our team is pushing the boundaries of data science and optimisation, to create a revolutionary A.I. solution that manufacturers can use to save millions of pounds in operational costs and efficiency improvements. We are selling groundbreaking technology in a relatively early market. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and contribute significantly to the ongoing operational responsibilities that we’re just beginning to get to grips with. If you’ve been working in an Infrastructure or DevOps team, are keen to keep doing technical work with an eye to taking on more responsibility and growing your leadership skills then this is the role for you!
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be joining one of two Engineering teams that have delivery and operational responsibility for our systems, a true “DevOps” team. Your role will be crucial to developing and implementing DevOps strategies, building out our systems’ capabilities and managing the Continuous Delivery pipelines for the teams.
What the role will involve:
- Building on and maintaining alerting and monitoring systems for the entire platform
- Implementing updates to all underlying infrastructure and tools/software
- Taking part in and advising on changes to infrastructure architecture (Azure / Kubernetes / Docker / Postgres / Celery)
- Understanding and improving our database architecture, usage and monitoring
- Helping us achieve astonishingly high uptime figures by building in additional redundancy and resiliency into our systems and infrastructure
- Defining and implementing Disaster Recovery strategies and associated architectures
- Managing, maintaining and improving the CI / CD environment and tools
- Assisting in the delivery of technical improvements to the software delivery process, such as the implementation of test and deployment automation
- Encourage and empower development teams to think outside the box and embrace cloud-native technologies
What we are looking for:
- Strong practical knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure environments, Infrastructure as Code and cloud-native technologies
- In-depth understanding of Kubernetes (Preferably AKS), the Kubernetes architecture and Docker
- Good understanding of CI & CD processes and tools - specifically GitLab CI, Helm, FluxCD/Argo
- Strong knowledge of Terraform
- Practical understanding of GitOps
- Can program in Python
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and implementation would be a nice-to-have
What we can offer:
We aim to create an awesome, open and inclusive environment for our people to thrive. We want to offer those who join us on our journey the opportunity to reach their full potential and grow their career (and of course, all the other little benefits in return for your hard work!)
- Competitive salary between £70,000 and £90,000 based on skills and experience
- Stock Options, so when we make it big you do!
- 25 days’ holidays + bank holidays
- L&D budget of £500 per year to invest in your growth
- Monthly Team Lunch and Dinner
- Annual Team Trip
- A range of perks and discounts through CharlieHR
At Flexciton, we value diversity and foster an inclusive environment. We are committed to equal employment opportunities and we want to ensure that our recruitment process is accessible to everyone.
