We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist (Technical) to help deliver on our key technical hires for the Engineering team.

About the role

Our Engineering team is made up of 19 people a mix of different skillsets. Our team is building Flexciton using Python 3, Flask, Angular 5, Docker, SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL and our technology is hosted in Microsoft Azure. 

This role will report to our Head of Operations but will work closely with our People and Talent Partner to build out a best-in-class talent function. 

Our immediate need is to hire 5 awesome tech people within the next 2 months, and an additional 30 by the end of 2021. We need your help to develop a strong pipeline of high calibre candidates therefore the first 3 months will be 80% high delivery, hands-on sourcing whilst simultaneously working with the People and Talent Partner on streamlining the hiring process as we scale. The rest of the time will be spent guiding candidates through the interview process and closing successful candidates. 

 What your first 90 days will look like:

  • Hands on sourcing and closing 5 Engineering roles, these will be mainly backend and optimisation as well as other ad-hoc tech roles (e.g, QA, Infrastructure)
  • Doing a first screen of candidates to assess both technical and non-technical skills and fit, and closing successful candidates.
  • Coordinating the tech team and candidates to provide a seamless hiring process.
  • Reporting on KPI's and keeping internal trackers/metrics up to date for your roles and other associated admin (keeping ATS up to date etc)
  • Keeping a strong focus on diversity hiring for your roles.

 What your role will look like beyond 90 days:

We are looking to double the tech team by the end of the year and your responsibilities will include pipeline generation, reporting and management, building attraction strategies, interview process management, offer management and building and maintaining relations within the hiring community.

  • Full life-cycle recruitment: Lead strategic efforts for critical roles across levels in tech function from talent attraction to onboarding
  • Stakeholder Management: Build relationships and partnerships with Senior Leadership and the technology team, reviewing and developing Flexciton’s technical hiring process.
  • Strategic Partnership: Lead competitor analysis and compensation benchmarking exercises to ensure proper and competitive positioning. 
  • Process Development: Partner with stakeholders to define roles, write job descriptions and structure evaluation and selection processes.
  • Proactive sourcing:
    • Develop unique sourcing strategies for active and passive candidates, thinking outside the box.
    • Source potential candidates on niche platforms, like Stack Overflow and Github
    • Using tools like X-ray search, lusha to find relevant candidates
    • Build a talent pool, be a pro at talent mapping and accessing referrals - we take diversity and inclusion seriously so be a champion of this. 
    • Execute on those tactical research, referrals and sourcing campaigns to find and engage both active and passive candidates through proactive initiatives
  • Candidate management: Screen candidate applications, manage candidate communication and experience.
  • Candidate experience:
    • Provide and facilitate a seamless, positive candidate and impactful experience and effectively educate candidates on Flexciton and our available opportunities
    • Creative solutions: Familiarise yourself with the talent market to identify creative opportunities to reduce time to hire
  • Talent attraction/ Branding: 
    • Participate in tech conferences and meet-ups to network with tech professionals
    • Partner with Marketing to develop methods for using technology and social media to enhance the recruitment, screening and hiring of qualified individuals. 
    • Support our People and Talent Partner with employer branding initiatives.
  •  Ad hoc projects; 
    • Use knowledge, market insights, numbers and analysis to refine the talent acquisition process across the whole company. 
    • Partner to continuously develop process improvements to enhance the experience for candidates and internal stakeholders alike

This role would suit someone who has experience working in a high growth tech startup. The right person for this role will really care about finding the best talent to enhance Flexciton’s culture and will be passionate about ensuring all of our candidates have the best candidate experience.   • The ideal candidate should have 3+ experience working in a similar role at a tech  start-up, however, we are open to a mix of agency and in-house experience.
  • Experience in tech recruitment is essential - A solid track record of recruiting Software Engineers and other wider roles in tech (from mid to lead level)
  • You are an expert with sourcing the right candidates using various tools such as LinkedIn and co-hire and can get creative when sourcing candidates for hard-to-fill, niche roles.

  • Salary on offer is up to £55,000 depending on experience.
